Online Beam Intensity System Dynamic Range Calculator (greater than 7.62 meters)

Use this calculator to get the minimum and maximum amount of light in candela or effective candela either the IL1700 or the IL1400 Radiometer/Photometer can measure at a user-definable distance greater than 7.62 meters (25 feet).
Beam Intensity System Dynamic Range Calculator for distances Greater Than or Equal to 7.62 meters (25 feet)

For use with either:

Beam Candela, not to be confused with Mean Spherical Candela (which must be measured in an integrating sphere) is the measure of the lumens per steradian at the peak intensity of the beam and samples only a very narrow angle of the beam. The sampling angle need not be defined.

To use this calculator, please enter the measurement distance in the input box on the left side of the form. Choose the units for the distance, either meters or feet and then click the "Calculate" button at the bottom of the form to calculate the ranges in candela (steady source) and effective candela (flashing source) for the IL1700 with an SED033/Y/L30 detector and the IL1400 with an SEL033/Y/L30 detector (steady sources only). If you make a mistake, press the "Reset" button to return the form to default values (7.62 meters). If you would like to print your results, press the "Print" button.
