Can I really replace my own LCD or DLP TV / Projector lamp? It's easy to do - if you can use a screwdriver, you can replace your TV Lamp or Projector Lamp! Lamp replacement instructions will vary from tv to tv or projector to projector, so consult your manual for more information about your specific model but in most cases, after allowing the tv or projector to rest unplugged for about two hours to cool down, you remove the screws to the panel covering the lamp assembly (cage and lamp), slide the lamp assembly out of your tv or projector, pop the lamp out of the cage and replace with your new OEM Osram replacement lamp - again this will vary from tv to tv or projector to projector but usually involves removing screws or a spring clip and unplugging the lamp cable, replace the lamp assembly back into the tv or projector, screw the outer panel back over the lamp assembly, and finally, pat yourself on the back because your done! We recommend wearing rubber gloves while handling your new OEM Osram LCD or DLP replacement lamp to prevent skin oils from contaminating the lamp and reducing its lifetime. Also, wipe down the lamp with a lint-free cloth just before reinserting the lamp assembly back into the tv or projector as a precaution.
