For over fifty years International Light Technologies has been developing products and solutions that meet a broad range of needs and solve a variety of challenges. ILT combines technical lighting and light measurement expertise to provide products and services that shine.
International Light Technologies was formed when Gilway Technical Lamp merged with International Light. Gilway and International Light have long and proud reputations for delivering exemplary customer service, on-time delivery, and technical expertise. Formed in 1969, Gilway Technical Lamp has provided customers with off-the-shelf and customized solutions for a full spectrum of light sources. Since 1965 International Light has been solving the inherent difficulties in light measurement through the design and manufacture of a wide range of light measuring instruments, including the most accurate light meters on the market.
ILT’s headquarters, R&D efforts, certified state-of-the-art testing and calibration lab, warehousing and much of its manufacturing are located in our Peabody Massachusetts facility, just 15 miles north of Boston.

To ensure that this commitment is understood, implemented and maintained, all of our employees are familiar with our policy and understand their requirements within the Quality System through training and access to our Quality Manual. We are an ISO9001:2008 certified organization for quality management and all of our products are backed by a warranty.
ILT is an ISO17025:2005 Accredited lab. This certification allows us to calibrate ILT-branded and non-ILT branded light meters and spectroradiometers. Visit our Calibrations page here to see all of our calibration services.
Our Commitment to the Environment
ILT is committed to designing and manufacturing products that are environmentally friendly and implementing professional practices that are environmentally sustainable. The Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) was issued in February 2003. The RoHS directive restricts the use of the following substances in products sold into European markets from July 1, 2006:
- Hexavalent Chromium
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)
All of our products are now fully compliant.
Because our products are used as measurement devices there is an exemption on RoHS compliance. However, we are developing all our new products to be compliant, and retro designing our older products on an ongoing basis. We expect to have all our products fully compliant in the next few years.
Our Commitment to Global Corporate Citizenship
Conflict Minerals Declaration
The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was signed into U.S. federal law on July 21, 2010. Section 1502 of the Act defines the reporting obligations for companies that are publicly traded in the US and are governed by the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). Section 1502 requires companies that make products for which 3TG minerals (tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold) are necessary to the functionality or production of that product to assess their supply chains and publicly report on the source of these minerals if they are sourced from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining country or if they are from recycled or scrap sources.
ILT is a privately held company and thereby not required to file reports with the SEC in compliance with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act. While we are exempt from this requirement, we do manufacture products for companies that are bound by the SEC requirements regarding Conflict Minerals. Therefore, we are requiring that our suppliers be in compliance with the Dodd-Frank Act concerning the Conflict Minerals Tungsten, Tantalum, Gold, and Tin. Evidence of the origins of sources of any use in any amount of these “Conflict Minerals” in our supplier's product shipped to ILT must be provided.
This inquiry was reasonably designed and was conducted in good faith with an effort to obtain reliable representations indicating smelter or refiner facilities at which its conflict minerals were processed and that those conflict minerals did not originate in the DRC or adjoining country or come from recycled or scrap suppliers. This document declares that some of International Light Technologies products contain one or more conflict minerals and that these minerals are necessary to the functionality of the products manufactured. Based upon the RCOI conducted by ILT, this document declares that all conflict minerals used in ILT products do not originate in the DRC or an adjoining country or come from recycled or scrap supplier. This document certifies that all ILT products are declared “DRC conflict free”. ILT will also request this information from our suppliers annually to assure compliance to this declaration.
